[Reposting to see if that helps get a response. -Adam]
We used the User Verification plugin to mark all our existing users as Verified, but a few users are reverting to Unverified for reasons we can't discern for certain. We believe these are people whose memberships in Paid Memberships Pro have been renewed manually or automatically because we get email like the one below (our support person's comments at the top). If it matters, we use Stripe with PMPro.
When we go through our Users list manually, we've found a few others like this who haven't complained. (3 out of the first 300 users in the list, sorted by last login).
I can't imagine there's a setting that's doing this, but if you can think of any way this could happen, we'd appreciate it.
BTW, it would be a huge help if we could sort the Users list by the Verified column while troubleshooting this.
Please let me know if the admin test account won't be used or when you'll be done with it so I can delete it.
cheers… -Adam
Here's another member whose email address reverted back to unverified during his manual renewal process. I thought it was related to Apple Pay, but that theory didn't pan out. He also has an extra order record (see Memberships > Orders in WP) that is listed as Token in addition to the Paid record. I thought this was a clue, but again, it didn't pan out. So bottom line... email addresses that revert back to an unverified status are still a mystery.
BTW, I did set Tim's email address as verified now so he's taken care of.

Subject: Cannot log on to TidBits
To: TidBITS <support@tidbits.com>I have just sent your site $20 and now it won’t let me log in at all.
I have responded to the e-mail I received but it makes no difference.
Has the system locked me out?
And my name and address need adjusting as they now have mild errors on them.
regards,
Tim

My support person marked the Unverified people as Verified, so you won't see them if you log in now. Here's her note about the details she found about them. The manual renewal membership may be the only commonality.
Hi, Please download the updated version from GitHub and manually install the plugin on your WordPress. Please let us know if the updated version resolves your issue.
Download Link: https://github.com/pickplugins/user-verification

After downloading extract the folder and please remove the -master from the folder name. And then zip the folder so you can upload it.
Finally, From your WordPress dashboard upload and activate your plugin manually.

I could use some help here—this keeeps happening, seemingly with Paid Memberships Pro manual renewals.
Here’s the latest message from my support person:

Here is another user who seems to have reverted back to an unverified status. I’ve reached out to David with a series of questions, so we’ll see if he can fill in any of those blanks.
One weird thing to mention, if you look at David’s User record in WordPress (it’s under dlbyrum@earthlink.net) notice the Last Login date shows as 20 September 2023 10:41 pm. However, his most recent manual renewal membership was processed on Oct 16, 10:14 PM. This is Stripe’s timestamp.
So, how did David renew his order without registering a successful login?
Other stats about David’s order: It’s a manual renewal using Apple Pay and there is no extra token record. So, once again, manual renewal is the only common thing with the other situations we’ve encountered.
I’ll let you know if/when David replies to my questions.
