Hi,
I notice grid post is taking the first image of the post it's representing. Is there a way to crop that image to a 1:1 aspect ratio image so all grid elements have exactly the same size ?

Post grid thumbnail is not based on aspect ratio, you can set a custom height width for any device. please watch this video
