How can I activate the comment count in my Post Grid?

I would like my Post Grid to display the comment count of Posts that have Comments. Is that generally possible?
I added the Comment Count to the layout I\'m using but it doesn\'t show up (although there are comments at least on 2 posts of mine). Also I can\'t alter it\'s font size, margin, etc. What can I do? Thank you!
