We have just updated to Job Manager v2.1.34, and now it looks like a logged in user cannot create a job or a company anymore – they are simply sent to the dashboard main page when they click the button to add a job or company. Do other users have the same problem?

I can answer this by myself now: Obviously, all pages settings (assignment of shortcodes to pages) were lost. We were able to fix the problem by re-entering these settings.
