Hi,
We are currently using the post grid on our homepage.. but we just noticed that it is also getting "pages" queries even it is just set to "page"

Can you please check and see where we got it wrong.. or what can we do to fix it

In your screenshot i can see your selected post type is "post" , can you please tell me what do you mean by "pages" ? is this custom post types on your site?
Can you please send me a temporary admin access to your site? i will check the issue.
