Why can't I add custom fields in Post Grid after upgrading to Post Grid Pro. Am I supposed to add my license somewhere to activate features? Am I supposed to reinstall? For example, in the Pods plugin, I created a custom post type name Stories. And created custom fields, last_name, and story_teller_name. I want to display both fields in the grid and also sort by last name.

Welcome to our forum.
You should remove/delete free version first and then install pro version.
Then go to layout editor to add elements like custom fields, please see the screenshots how you can do this.

Please share your post grid page url where i can test the radio button for filter.
