Welcome to our forum.

Thanks for your question, previous version we saved accordions data and options saved under different meta field(each option each different meta field) almost 50+ meta field created for a single accordion, so we decided to save all data under single meta field, it will much faster to load, this is main reason to data migration is required. laster we also handle content missing issue by loading content from old meta field in latest version. also optimize js and style issues.
