colour not appearing on filter

Hi, i have installed your extension, however i have added product attribute colour to this product to test if it appears on the filter option, however nothing seems to show other than categories and price filter.
also on the mobile version, how do i get the product filter to come at the top of any products shown as this shows at the bottom of the page, the client will leave the site as they wont be able to filter properly.
