I am using user verification with MemberPress and BuddyBoss and when a new user is registered via the MemberPress import function, the verification email is sent as expected but the new user/Member profile is created. I would expect that the user is entered into a state Verification Pending, until he verifies the email and then to be active. Is there any way to achieve that?

I understand your issue, but our plugin is only triggered after registration is complete, The feature you are looking for isn't available right now.
