For post without a thumbnail, can we insert a default image?

Welcome to our forum.
there is an option to add empty thumbnail for which post doesn't have set thumbnails, Please see the option under
Layout settings > Media source
you need to check the checkbox left to "Empty thumbnail" please see the screenshot.
