I tried to edit the layer-content.php file but nothing I do seems to work. I'm trying to remove ", View Product" from the excerpt. I'm not sure where this is coming from or how to remove it.

you need to go layout editor, add "Excerpt with Read more" you will see the input for "Read more text: "
